WEISE / GROßE
WEISE/GROßE, comprised of Ina Weise from Dresden and Marcus Große from Potsdam/Rathewalde, form an artist duo that originated from their encounter in 2018 within the confines of a Plattenbau in Espenhain along Bundesstraße 95. Since their meeting, they have collaborated extensively, embodying a conceptual approach to their artistic endeavors – prioritizing content over form, unless the latter proves unessential, emphasizing the potency of actions.
The duo perceives their art as a contextualization within an aesthetic dimension, occasionally serving as a commentary on various situations or as an imperative, a task that demands execution as a natural and consistent continuation of their creative journey.
Their work frequently revolves around space, whether tangible or imagined, private or public. WEISE/GROßE delve into the intricacies of spatial inventory, examining cultural practices that either shape or emanate from these spaces. The significance of space as a temporal vessel also captivates them, allowing their art to intricately weave new informational connections within the fabric of time.
