In her video message, Congolese photographer Arlette Bashizi talks about her series ‘Survivors’, which was created in 2023 in the town of Mekele in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia. In the photographs, commissioned by the Washington Post, she portrays women who were raped during the civil war in Ethiopia.
