Miele Foyer Concept
Miele - Redesign Corporate Entry
Interactive Installation
Essen/ Guetersloh 2016
Miele, manufacturer of renowned high quality domestic appliances, has a showroom (and a museum) within their foyer at the Guetersloh headquarters. As a meeting point and eyecatcher, there is a media installation integrated into the floor of the central waiting area.
LK AG was asked to update the somewhat aged installation and came up with a design concept for the whole waiting area to complement the mainly historic "Miele Museum" with an exhibition of what Miele sees as the future of household aplliances.
The concept contained an interactive 3D factory tour as a replacement for the original installation (which shows a world map),
an exhibition area with interactive multi-purpose cubes to sit on, look into and interact with(containing exhibits under/behind glas and touchscreens) and a wall of cubes, that are movable via electronic control systems for being used as a projection-surface, as an interactive product showcase and as a replacement for the current map, resembling the original one.
The concept is yet to be finally discussed, as it doesn´t fit into the everyday traffic and therefor is to be handled confidential.
