ABOUT
Elsie Haddad is a Beirut-based documentary photographer. Her work revolves around transition and change, as well as around places that hold memories and been witness to different eras and events. She is interested in people with rich life stories and experience, and looks for ways of sharing it. She likes to push the boundaries of the genre often bringing her own fiction to the story.
In 2015, Elsie received the Arab Documentary Photography Program grant from AFAC, in partnership with Magnum Foundation and Prince Claus Fund, to work on her project Stranded – On Life After Imprisonment. In 2016, she was awarded the Prix Boghossian for Photography for her body of work.
Elsie is also a photography trainer; she leads and organizes workshops in several areas of Lebanon initiating kids to photography.
