Breathing Meditation Music
A REFLECTION ON THE ACT OF BREATHING
If you are anything like me, you are probably sick of hearing about THE BAN. This is true regardless of whether or not you are a smoker. It is the "flavour of the month" and has touched on various controversial topics, the most notable of which is the concept of a "Nanny State." Everyone places a high value on their freedom; therefore, when something threatens to restrict those freedoms, it strikes a nerve in each and every one of us. At this juncture, the tide of public opinion has turned in favour of preserving people's rights to breathe air that is free of contaminants.
Let's look at the freedom to breathe unpolluted air from a different angle now, shall we? On a typical day, how many times do you estimate that you breathe? After finding a comfortable position in which you can sit quietly and start to relax, you should count the number of times your chest rises and falls during the course of one minute. You'll need to multiply that number by 60 and then by 24 to get the correct result. Because everyone breathes at a different rate, you shouldn't worry too much about what it is because there is no correct answer to this question. You have just finished the first lesson in meditation, which consisted of you sitting down and counting the number of breath cycles that occur in one minute. You don't need to convert your faith or join a specific organisation in order to practice a method that is widespread in many eastern traditions—following one's breath. Simply by counting, one can experience a reduction in stress as well as tranquillity and a general sense of improved well-being. Some people believe that once you have achieved this level of mindfulness, there is no limit to what you can achieve.
If you participated in this experiment, you will have picked up on something, possibly even on the very first try. Even if only for one minute, we can become more conscious of our mental process by concentrating and paying attention to the natural rhythm of our breath. The fact that we don't give much thought to either our thoughts or our 7 11 breathing gif is one aspect in which the two are comparable. They take place on their own, without our knowledge, and that is just the point. When we direct our focus within, we begin the practice of meditation and our thoughts move through our heads in a ceaseless, effortless manner, much like clouds or butterflies flying by a window. Rather than contemplation, which consists of nothing more than focused thought, what I have in mind is the practice of observation. Complete relaxation, which involves bringing the waves of thinking to a halt by concentrating on one's breathing, gets one to a point of stillness, which is the present now. We have that freedom, and no one can take it away from us; as a result of it, we are able to accept responsibility for our lives while remaining conscious. We have the ability to deliberately control our will to pick which of our habitual tendencies – such as smoking – we would like to let rid of, and which of those tendencies we would like to foster. When we take responsibility for our freedom and act on it intentionally, we increase our agency and truly become the architects of our own future. To our great relief, that is not something that can ever be legislated.
Undoubtedly, breathing meditation music is not the only form of mindfulness that you can practice. You can also focus on your posture, the way you move, or even your diet. But to further breathing meditation, one can listen to relaxing music that can help with the slowing of the thought processes and bring about a meditative state.
Harmonic Breathing offers soothing tracks that mask environmental noise and support the listener in slowing their breath to a natural rhythm. The music is based on live instruments, sounds from nature, and binaural beats that are all used to encourage deep relaxation. Listen to our music for free on our website, Spotify, or Apple Music.
