WHAT ELSE DO WE WORK ON?
MANIFESTO
We feel that music is not a spectator sport and it takes dirt under the fingernails to reach the heart of it. The only way to truly know an artist is to talk to one. The only way to experience the truth of the sound, the crowd, venue, even the line at the bar, is to be there. Our goal is to give you a glimpse of the night with a few songs, the chaos of the dance floor, and an intimate discussion with the music makers.
OUR APPROACH
Operating on a two skeleton crew, ANOW brings a few cameras and a mic to capture a night and bring the truth of it to you. Our feeling is that with to much polish you are left with a shiny lie. No live set is perfect, very few rooms have impeccable acoustics, but like an old coffee table, it’s the dings and dents that make each set unique and beautiful.
CURATION
From our inception we have reached out to musicians we admire and the people that steer them from town to town. We are interested in all genres and strive to create a safe haven for musicians to discuss who and why they are without the pressure of an agenda or a need to plug. We realize that in this day and age more music is being created than ever before and in a way, this has created something of a muddle. It is our goal to help the musicians we work with stand out above the crowd, if only for 15 minutes at at time.
WHO WE ARE
For now it’s just two skeletons, director Justin Lafreniere and director of photography Lukasz Majka. BLACK PHYSICS. Lukasz, a twelve year Berlin native, trained at HFF Potsdam Babelsberg and has been making short films, documentaries, and features for the last eight years. Justin, Texas born and prior screenwriter out of LA and London, has been living and making films in Berlin for two years.
