Bargain Spot is an artist-led project space directed by Lydia Honeybone and Abigail Webster. The site hosts exhibitions, residencies, performances and events, providing a much-needed platform in Edinburgh for emerging artists.
Inititially established as a temporary exhibition venue for the artist's own work, Bargain Spot is committed to providing free space for students or recent graduates to produce and present artwork, realise ambitious projects and show alongside established practitioners.
The venue will run until a commercial tenant occupies the property and functions through a non-financial agreeent, whereby renovation work is provided in lieu of rent. Despite the contingency of this arrangement both director's are committed to providing an inventive programme while adhering to an ethos of accessibility.
