I earned an M.A. in visual and media anthropology from Freie Universität Berlin with the completion of my thesis, Living Color Living Sound, an experimental documentary about the American Rainbow Family.
I continued in the same field as a PhD candidate, meditating for several years on Native American perspectives, media representations, & the North American environmental justice movement, before deciding the material I gathered would be better suited in a non-academic form.
Earlier education focused on media communications and culture during my BA in Chicago, and was followed by several years of solo world travel and various jobs, mostly odd and precarious.
Younger life was experienced at a Florida bayou, on the Kansas plains and in the Great Lakes region of the Midwest where I studied dance. Other endeavors included community sound art, radio, music and art.
As the voice of my own poetry, I am one half of the band, Arctic Drilling.
So-called American counter-culture, cosmovisions, dignity, and concepts of time are some of the red threads of interest in the tapestry of my investigations and expressions.
As a student of Vipassana meditation, I realize these kinds of biographical details matter little in the bigger picture of who we are. <<<
