Autonomous XIM
Master Thesis
(INTERACTIVE - INTERDISCIPLINARY) We considered the eXperience Induction Machine (XIM) as a non-anthropomorphic robot in order to develop different states to make ir self-explanatory and autonomous.
I developed a demo application during the open house sesions ESCOLAB-15'.
CRITIC INTERACTION:
SELF-EXPLORATION (INFINITE FRAGILE VIBE)
(INTERACTIVE - INTERDISCIPLINARY) Interactive Application Design (Concept) in which to interact with the visuals you need to have your eyes closed.
It tries to play with the ironic concept that you can only play with the application only when you cannot see it. Then by receiving musical input you have to moove to try to understand all the elements (circles) in the screen.
The project tries to explore the conceptualization of the concept of infinite by moving in an open space, fragility by having to move with your eyes closed, and vibe by receiving music feedback.
TANGIBLE INTERFACE DESIGN:
Sand box for Random controlling
(INTERDISCIPLINARY) Concept Design of a tangible interface consisting in the exploration of ways to control and set random parameters.
Imagine a future in which we want to set programs for our smart home, we need a controller that cannot be considered out of the scene, and is integrated in the room. I designed (conceptually) a sand box similar to a zen garden in which 3 stones placed inside symbolize Light, Visuals and Music.
By placing randomly coloured marbles, the distance from each marble to the main stones would set a controlled random setting for all the systems. Then by taking sand and placing it into a plate we cn "draw" and set the time it would last.
In the case of Music, for instance, we could create a random playlist with the marbles weighting to play different moods songs.
The project aimed the exploration of limits into random setings.
INTERACTIVE SYSTEM DESIGN:
An Approach to Digital Arts through Kinect sensor programming
(INTERDISCIPLINARY) Final Degree Project (10/10) - Creative Application that explores interaction and visualization in order to develop a user-oriented interactive system based on user position tracked by Kinect and the use of different features provided by audiovisual processing.
The project has been developed during several months; then distinct version have been considered.
The project final report is available here (Direct download here) and final Demo version can be found in the videos below.
Furthermore an UX has been designed so as to validate the designed system. Find in videos the system being testes as well as the project DEMO.
Creative Engineering:
Self-Projects
Data Visualization:
(GRAPHICS) Data Visualization for WellBeing stairs TUe Project data captures. Based on the project the Visualization wants to join the real system with its simile, a piano.
Programmed with Processing, you can find a demo here.
(Instructions): Press ENTER to change visualization. Click mouse for playing piano.
Project Living Particles:
(GRAPHICS & ELECTRONICS) Creative Visualization based on a Tamagochi (Digital Creature) using programming and Electronics. By using Arduino with different sensors the aim of the project was to control a Digital particle system as if it was alive. Watch the result:
Project KALEYDOSCOPE:
(GRAPHICS) Creative Creative Visualization based on a kaleidoscope. By creating different random shapes with distinct features the aim of the project was to generate a beautiful visualization so as to create a picture, that afterwards became my identity logo.
Programmed with Processing, you can find a demo here.
(Instructions) Keyboard arrows UP/DOWN increase/decrease speed; LEFT/RIGHT increase/decrease distance between objects;
+/- increase/decrease amount of shapes.
