Theater Hangar Plaza - Public Art Installation
For the infamous Fusion Festival I was commissioned to create a multidimensional Installation for the plaza in front of the Theater Hagar.
I chose the Theme of "Expression-Reflection/Senses and Emotion"
The Installation consists of three main elements: The Hangar facade mural of a giant graphic eye, peeking out over the public, seeing and contemplating on all the "real life theater" taking place during the Festival-
The seven totems display the seven main emotions in form of graphic illustration of mouth gestures :
joy, surprise, sorrow, pain, anger, disgust, content
These are supple, ented by large threedimensional stuffed leaf strcutures, printed canvas assembled with complex sewing tequiques and metal structural frames inside, resembling and resonating with the trees and foliage around -
The third element is the giant comic-like thought bubble semingly floating in the air over the plaza, which is used as a rear-projection canvas for video art during the night. The bubble levitates there as a blank cloud of possibility. waiting to be filled with thoughts and feelings of every single festival participant who gazes upon it.
