In order for the viewer
In order for the viewer to access the image, I make sure that a balance between the abstract and the representative content is given. Mostly I show shapes, patterns, structures or situations that are known to the viewer. This may be the structure of asphalt, the pattern of a carpet or the reflection of a glass panel. Important to me is that a general irritation is evoked, so that the viewer questions his own perception, his world or the medium itself. My aim is for everyone, who is willingly, to see his own experience through my photos. I want to create a kind of democratic image. This image should be easily persuaded by its visuality, but at the same time open fundamental questions of our perception, our world and the media. I try to avoid creating images that are exclusively directed at a particular group of people. For example, I don't want a picture that is disclosed only for an art scholar. On the other hand, I am happy if even just one person receives a specific impression. My intention is to let pictures speak for themselves and to be recognized as an independent visual existence. They should not be filled with concrete content, which must first be deciphered by the viewer, so that they can take effect.
